About Nohm

Built around the work.

Nohm grew out of European energy-system studies, where the model, the economics and the report often live in different worlds. It brings those disciplines into a shared, traceable workflow.

01

The problem around the model

A serious study connects carriers, markets, sectors, geography and climate assumptions. When an assumption changes, the effects need to be understood across the model, the appraisal and the report.

Reconciling versions, re-exporting figures and tracing a number back to an earlier run takes time away from the analysis itself. Nohm is being developed to reduce that manual coordination and make provenance part of the workflow.

02

Who builds Nohm

Nohm is the product developed by Exajoule Ireland with the energy-system expertise of Terajoule Energy. Platform engineering and domain judgement inform the same development process.

The public Nohm website explains the product. It is separate from the consulting website and from the logged-in Nohm application.

03

Five positions that shape the product

Trace results back to inputs and assumptions. Separate interpretation from permission. Ask before consequential changes. Develop bounded workflows before expanding their scope. Be explicit about limitations.

These principles guide design and development; they are not a substitute for checking the capabilities and safeguards of a particular deployment.

04

A small team, working closely

The most useful feedback starts with a real model, a difficult question or a reporting task. Working sessions help establish what is useful now and what still needs development.

We welcome conversations with energy modellers, engineers, researchers and designers. Send a description of the problem you work on and where you think Nohm could help.

05

The identity

The omega mark connects the product to energy and resistance. The current visual language combines restrained typography, light surfaces and the assistant imagery used throughout this site.

Assistant signals communicate working states. Their purpose is to make the interface understandable, not to suggest that a decorative animation represents a live calculation.
